Hi guys,

I have this IWC Portugueser F.A. Jones which runs ridiculously fast, it will gain more than 1 hour on a day easy. I've actually haven't worn it for this reason for I believe close to 2 years, and even forgot that I had it. Now i recently stumbled upon it, and I was wondering is it worth to have a repair look at it? Or is such a repair actually way too costly for a watch like this?

any feedback is greatly appreciated? also tell me if it is in the wrong part of the site

have a great one!

On another forum I received a few suggestions stating that I should try demagnetizing the watch first, it appears that the mainspring looks heavily magentized.

so I just ordered one of these, to see if that will do the trick;

Degaussing will be a good start. However that movement is a 6498 There won't be watchmaker on this planet who can't work on that. Also it looks a nice watch. I would say Degaussing and regulation will probably have it running very well.

Send it to Unreformed66 he will fix it. I had a watch that did the same thing and he did a full service and runs perfect now.
