Introducing The Omega Speedmaster Dark Side Of The Moon Apollo 8

A tribute to the first orbit of the moon, this special edition is powered by a custom version of Omega's Caliber 1861.

With a stunning skeletonized dial and crisp yellow accents, the Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon Apollo 8 special edition is a unique take on Omega's Dark Side archetype. An ideal choice for a Speedmaster to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 8 mission, this very black expression of the Dark Side of the Moon pays tribute to the first Apollo mission to complete an orbit of the moon itself. With a cut-away dial carrying the imprint of the lunar surface and a special version of Omega's hand-wound 1861 movement with black bridges, the Dark Side of the Moon Apollo 8 is a bold and rather literal expression of a Moonwatch. Interestingly, this is not a limited edition but rather an addition to the main collection.

This will be my next gen Omega
Is that a beauty ! .... From the dial, the bezel, the movement ... to the color!

It's the BEST Speedmaster by far ... yet.

This is the thinnest Dark Side of the Moon yet at 13.8mm top to bottom.

On the wrist, this watch wears extremely well and might convert some large-watch naysayers.

The lunar-inspired details on the dial are going to be a love/hate feature for many.

The Apollo 8 is a totally new take on the Dark Side of the Moon and one that has me excited to see even more.
