Help - Franken GMT Master II

Hey everyone! Look for some guidance here...

About to be in possession of a gen xtal, gen bezel assembly, gen insert and gen dial for 116710. Anyone know what build and movement would be able to take these parts? And anyone willing to do the work?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You can use a Noob (correct hand stack) with 3186 movement as a base and all those parts will fit fine. You can also use (incorrect hand stack) 2836 from Noob as well. Make sure to get the latest versions.

Here is mine. All gen except movement and datewheel

For the 116710, the noob is the best one you can get for it.

you can use the CHS 2836 movement from noob, you just have to clip the feet. Can obviously use rep hands on this. Gen hour hand wont fit without modifying the hand.

otherwise an sh3135 converted to a 3185 will take all gen parts and will run you ~1k

or a gen 3185 or 3186 will run you about 2k.


if you wanted to use an eta 2836, you would have to modify the movement extensively.

what I did in a few of the CHS 2836 movements was to replace the internals of the clone movement with the swiss internals, and left the mainplate the same. it was a little more reliable/accurate.

These are awesome builds guys! Really making my choice on what to build so much harder. Still trying to decide if I should got GMT/Explorer or super franken my 116610... UGH!
