I’ve been watching an Aussie Facebook watch sales group. Moonnwatches come up every week. I like the hesalite crystal with the display caseback, so the 3572.50 makes the best sense. A guy in Sydney is selling one for aud4k (=~usd3100). Dates to 1998/99. Box no papers. It was listed on 3 jan at aud$4.5k and has laid dormant the past few weeks. It’s clearly gen, no?

Deal or no deal?

Get a tagged photo...

To be honest, I am quite the noob but the rear caseback looks gen to me. Don't think I have seen a rep like that

Looks brilliant.

I would not take it with that "service history"... if they come up that often, you'll find a better one that's not third- or fourth- hand with an unknown history.

Maybe it's me being suspicious, but the guy saying he got it from someone, never had it serviced, and never wore it, but still thinks it works fine is kind of ehh.

I’ve seen it for less than that on those Japanese eBay stores with box and papers. But then again I guess you still gotta pay for the duties and it ends up almost the same.....

I would take his comments about no service history and his response to your question about time keeping to mean that he knows it needs a service or he doesn’t know it needs a service, but it needs a service.

I would factor into the deal the price of a service. If it were me in Canada I would send it to Al Archer and it would cost me $290 USD plus parts, case and bracelet refinishing would be $60 USD.

Thanks for the sage advice. I know omega quoted about $800 for a service, so it’s good to know an independent would cost a lot less

I’m also on the verge of buying some bootleg moonshine, but that’s a whole other story

Oh that is right. The price I quoted was for an omega 1120 (eta 2892).
