I recently decided to swap out my TCV7X LN insert with a Rolex Gen insert. As this watch was originally a TCV7LVX, I have already swapped out the original TCv7LVx insert for a TCv7xLN insert. Thus giving me a TCv7xLN with Maxi dial.
Swapping out inserts on the 5 digit subs is a rather simple mod. I decided to share this via a Pictorial with general tutorial comments. I am sure these basic insert swap threads have been done a hundred times. So, here is my version of the 101st time. Presented for anyone interested. Note that I am just a hobbyist and I make no claims to be anything more. I've been involved in this all consuming "hobby" since 1996. I've taken apart and attempted to piece back together hundreds of reps (as well as gens) I've spent thousands of dollars as well. Probably more than enough to have paid for both of my daughter's college tuitions twice over. I still consider myself a noob to this hobby.
I'm hoping that if there are any other noobs thinking about doing their own mods, this is a good one to start with. So, here's to that first big step. As the great Ferris Bueller once

And as a Bonus to anyone interested, I am also including a Pictorial comparison of the TCV7X LN insert to the Gen. Rolex 5 digit sub LN insert.
Again, I make no claims of offering any groundbreaking horoligical skills. Just an old noob consumed by this addictive hobby.
I hope this may serve at the very least, as good toilet reading material.
Anything more than that, well that's just gravy on a biscuit.
Enjoy!
