Something i threw together on RWI. I thought I might share it here.

What is our fascination with this sociopath, misogynistic, alcoholic, emotionally dysfunctional, sickly charming, ruthless killing machine? He might be all these things but the films and the character exude style, taste and there is a little bit in all of us that wants to escape into the fantasy world in which he resides. One really has to question the effectiveness of a secret agent whose preference for alcohol beverages is known to every bartender in every exotic location throughout the world.
Anyway, lets re-visit the much written about Bond Watches. Along with Cars and women this is another area where the character displays great taste and style. However, the only thing he really chooses or seduces is the women, we know that Q (not @QueTip) chooses his cars and watches. So, Q is the man. The great thing for Bond, unlike us, is he gets them all for free.

So here we go, some but not all of the 007 watches. Hours of research watching and freeze framing went into this thread lol. Joking of course but now since this watch hobby (addiction) has overcome me I cannot watch a Bond film without my finger hovering over the pause button for those minuscule glimpses of 007 arm candy.

Rolex 6538.

1517142665068.png1517142674334.png

There has been some debate over the years regarding what Rolex Sean Connery wears and the provenance of it. However due to the advent of DVD and Blue Ray it is now fairly obvious. As @Thrasher is tired telling people the Connery sub is a 6538 big crown, with a silver triangle and a 2 line metres first gilt dial. The strap was generally considered to be an admiralty grey nato. We now know it was a black red and green undersized RAF strap. It was also worn on a Black leather strap in Dr. No. and From Russia with love. The RAF strap appeared in Goldfinger. Again, in Thunderball the 6538 tells the time while the Breitling Top Time tells supplies the Geiger counter.
My version is the Helenarou Connery Submariner. It is a work of art in my biased opinion.

Rolex 5513

1517143084176.png1517143092696.png

An early appearance of the 5513 is displayed by George Lazenby in “On her Majesty’s secret service”. It was made more prominently worn by Roger Moore in “Live and Let Die” and “Diamonds are forever”. It had the buzzsaw bezel in “Live and Let Die” and a handy magnet for disrobing young ladies. Apart from the quirky bezel it has a feet first 2 line dial.

The weird thing is when I was searching for images the photos of my watch and rivet bracelets are all over the internet lol so here it is my @JohnnyLazar built “Live and Let Die”. This watch and the gen Omega 2531.80 started me off on the Bond crusade. It is now owned by @xj4sonx and he better not sell it without giving me first dibs.

1517143182480.png1517143230786.png1517143335888.png

This one is my latest and probably favourite watch. It was built by @tripdog as his own personal 5513 a lot of gen stuff went into this one.

Roger Moore Seiko

1517143532498.png1517143540659.png

Roger Moore wore a Seiko in Octopussy, indeed wore many as 007. I did know the model but unfortunately forgotten I am sure someone will tell me again. The great members at RWI discovered a very close approximation to this the Casio WorldTime or to the watch freaks (I do not include myself in that blanket statement) The Casio Royale. Nice find @Shelby1501.

Rolex 16610LN

1517145316151.png

Timothy Dalton’s weapon of choice in “Licence to Kill” was the infamous 5 digit. You must excuse my poetic licence here as I do not have an aluminium LN, so I improvised a bit lol. Use your imagination and picture a Black Bezel default_smile.png However a further caveat, it may not have been a 16610 but a 16800.

This old LV has gone past its sell by date and I recently replaced it with a TC LV Franken.

Omega Seamaster 300 2531.80 (SMP300)

1517145617210.png1517145623689.png1517145635867.png

Pierce Brosnan, from a little town called Navan in Co. Meath, Ireland, heralded the dawn of Omega as the choice for Bond, due mainly to a new designer and the links between Omega and British military watches. These were gadget laden watches. In “Golden Eye” he wears something with a battery or something in it called the 2541.80. However, by “Tomorrow Never Dies” they see sense and give him a 41mm automatic 2531.80, he continues with the 2531.80 throughout his tenure as Bond, so we see it in “The world is not enough” and “Die another day” as well. However I did read somewhere that they lost their marbles briefly again in “The world is not enough” and gave him a 36.5mm quartz 2561.80, however I am not sure on this.
Here is one of my favourite Bond watches the Omega 2531.80.

Omega 2220.80 and Omega 2900.50.91

1517145861675.png1517145869223.png1517145878092.png

A new Bond: Daniel Craig and new watches. In “Casino Royale” we still see the SMP in the form of the co-axial Seamaster 2220.80 in Casino Royale but for the more rugged Bond look they also introduce the big 45.5mm 2900.50 Planet Ocean. He sticks with a PO until “Spectre”. However, he downsizes to the 42mm 2201.50 in “Quantum of Solace” and wears a custom-built Titanium with the newer 8500 movement.

Here is a cheapo Ali version of the 2220.80 (I still love it), a Cheapo version of the 007 Limited Edition Skyfall (45.5mm with ceramic so not accurate, however the Skyfall in the film was Titanium the production model was Stainless Steel) and a V4 UPO 2900.50.

Omega Seamaster 300 Spectre and Omega Aqua Terra 150m 231.10.42.21.03.003

1517146314498.png1517146338695.png

Spectre is all about retro and apart from a DB5 what better way to do it than a modernised Seamaster 300 with co-axial movement and a liquid metal bezel. He also wears one of my personal favourites the AT 150m.
Below are the V6F Master co-axial, the V6F AT 150m and the Special edition V6F AT Spectre.
