The only thing that looks and feels like gold is gold. Plating has never been anything but a very temporary affair.

I used to research gold wrapping years ago and websites stated that there's no such thing. I'm guessing that most of the time gold wrapped means it has been plated a bit thicker or something, not sure.

It's no surprise that the factories take the cheapest route when making these. Anyone that thinks they design and implement anything over the bare minimum is delusional.

I was looking at a TD website yesterday and found the thick gold wrapped datejusts. Looks pretty decent but I'm still not sure what would ship out. Probably best to get QC photo of the midlink before having it shipped out from China. I wonder also if they sell solid gold 14k midlink datejusts these days. Well there should be some new stuff out soon I am guessing.
