I started on my blancpain journey a couple of months back with a couple of dsn builds but I wanted something else,
I found a couple of Vietnam cases and as 1701 movements with blancpain branding and hunted down the parts I wanted/needed,
The end result is this , f1c563779e82bfcfa131de484ef5c584.jpgc5f1621149ca0315688c271118536719.jpgb8079bb16962934ec4b59cf9915af409.jpg1a9e20943a8b549bd88180ee339b9fa3.jpg

Beautiful and unique vintage watch. Vietnam case is on another level compared to DSN
Thank you, its a really nice case, lovely slim lugs ,I can't stop wearing it, it's like I only have one watch at the moment, even my big crown is gathering dust 26c6197e2b42fc446fbc0da54755b492.jpg3bbe91637cb4e3d43f97e87e794def7e.jpg6abca7837edcd63d874e8c3546456f52.jpg

No,ruby's case doesn't come with the movement holder that you need for the dust cover to fit in and hold everything in place but the case is pretty much the same thing .
You can see the brass movement holder here, then the dust cover goes on top and the case back presses against the dust cover and holds everything firm once it's screwed down so you would need to find one of those or get one made so it all goes together properly8ff2b67b47a44ef2724160241cb4694f.jpg

Ok ,
Phong sold the entire watch for
circa 1000 usd only the hands are not correct and also the number on the bezel.
With your build the cost is less then this amount ?
Where do you found the hands?

My hands aren't correct really either, at a later date I will try and modify some dsn hands, the bezel insert in mine is a modded dsn insert.
Phongs watch is $950 ,I think mine came in so far at around $800

Ok , because now seem also thick or too big for this dial diameter but maybe is only my impression ..
Do you have a gen pic for comparison ?

And these are also quite fat, the dsn hands are pretty close maybe a bit thicker than the gens6b476886f47cd36e903b3a7219b80d13.jpga4db9a1786007c24d6f8b818549389dd.jpg

I know what you mean tho, they are fat, maybe because they were tool watches for diving and outdoor activities so the hands are fat to make them more visible under water or something

Maybe the minute hand is little short on your build. On the gen the minute hand go near the edge of the dial .
Also the withe circle on your dial is little smaller and leave more gap from the edge of the dial..
There is other source for a rep dial with the circle like the gen?
Sometimes Fresard watch, the French watchmaker sell on eBay gen Lip FF parts but at hight prices..

It's quite hard to find dials, gen parts are crazy money, so I think this is about as good as it will get for the time being
